The Malta Dance Sport Association (MDSA) is one of 84 other associations worldwide that together form the International DanceSport Federation (IDSF) which is based in Lausanne, Switzerland. The main aim of MDA is to cultivate and raise the standard of Ballroom & Latin American Dancing in Malta. The MDA organises annually the Malta National Championships and even Open and IDSF competitions. In fact, in 2002 the MDA organised the 1st IDSF Malta Open Championships in the Pavilion - Ta Qali and in 2003 the MDA organised the 1st IDSF INTERNATIONAL OPEN for ADULTS - Standard / Latin, and the 1st IDSF OPEN for SENIORS. The MDA also introduced the 1st Ballroom and Latin Courses for Beginners.
