| Malta Chen Taiji Association |
The Malta Chen Taiji Association was founded in 2005 and has given instruction to over 75 people. The association practices the Chen family style of Taijiquan. This is the style from which the other later styles developed. It emphasises low postures, and wide flowing body movements originating from the body core known as the Dantien in traditional Chinese medicine. It is an excellent toning exercise, and a great form of moving meditation. If practiced to advanced levels it has important martial art applications. For beginners, the club emphasises forms which are pre-structured sets of movements designed to give a whole body workout and the emphasis is on lower body strength, upper body relaxation, agility, balance, and a harmony between slow flowing movements punctuated by releases of energy in the form of arm and leg strikes. The Malta Chen Taiji Association is on University Campus every Tuesday and Friday from 1800 to 1915, and is currently running courses for beginners and advanced beginners. Anyone interested may just come and watch on Campus or try out the beginners’ classes. Website: maltataiji.com Email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
